The Best of Earl Earl and Your Mom
Which is a bit of a cop out since my daughter broke her leg this week and I can't really work.
If you subscribe to both Earl Earl & Your Mom, I love you, thank you, and I’m sorry you’re getting this email twice.
On Monday this week, we were on vacation, took my kids to a Trampoline Park during a ski trip, and my daughter broke her leg :(
She’s 4, so will heal easily and well but for the next 4-6 weeks she’s almost like a newborn. I’ve been waking up every three hours to give her pain meds, carrying her everywhere, not taking showers, not brushing my teeth, not leaving the house. I’m also not complaining, because in reality she got as clean a break as one can, we don’t need surgery, and I’m obsessed with her anyway so some extra time together is A-OK with me. However, I can’t write or work or really do much other than care for her. It’s also both of my kids’ spring breaks so they’re home with me. I’m going to be writing more about this on Your Mom, hopefully next week.
ANYWAY! I wasn’t going to send anything this week but I feel sad inside doing that. So instead! I thought I’d pull together a few of my favorite posts from both EE and Your Mom from the last six months or so for a cutie little catch up session.
When I go back through these, I’m honestly astounded with how much this little thing has grown, how its become this beautiful outlet for me to do the things I was trained to do in a formal work environment, in a very informal way. How I’ve been able to have dialogue with readers, and better understand how you all (and I) really want to shop, dress, and feel. And on the other side of the newsletter, to get to share my thoughts and feelings about being a mother, and see that I’m not alone, and in that not alone-ness hopefully help YOU feel less alone…. never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined I could find an audience for this, and I am beyond beyond beyond grateful. Wahh! Anyway!

Hope she recovers speedily and is free from pain ASAP! SO HARD when this stuff happens. Will be sending you all the positive vibes these next few weeks. From a mom who gets it. 🩷
I hope it's not too uncomfortable for her! In case you're feeling like this is your fault somehow, my 13-month-old broke her leg last month simply from tripping on a toy. It happens!! 🫶
